PARKSTON - Sully Buttes grabbed the early lead against Hurley and held on for a 70-67 win over the Bulldogs and Lennox toppled Chamberlain 60-55 in the Parkston Classic on Thursday.

The Chargers led 17-11 after one quarter and 39-28 at the intermission before Hurley crept back into the game.

Spencer Yackley scored 17 points, Tanner Foth added 15 and Zach Merwin netted 12 for the winners.

Heath Hult led Hurley with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Bo LaCroix added 10 rebounds.

The Cubs jumped out early and led 12-9 after the first quarter, but the Orioles outscored Chamberlain 17-9 to lead at halftime 26-21.

Chamberlain was led by Wade Hickey with 21 points and Isiah Harrison chipped in 11 points.

Jared Vlastuin scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Lennox. Andy Kruse added 14 points for the Orioles.

Todd County 58, Miller 48

Mission-Todd County's inside game proved to be too much for Miller as the Falcons downed the Rustlers 58-48 Thursday night in boys high school basketball.

The Falcons used a full-court pressure defense to outscore Miller 31-26 in the second half to pick up the Big Dakota Conference win.

"Offensively we had the advantage in the post with Mark Dubray and Jordan His Law," Todd County head coach Mike Hammer said.

"Defensively, I thought our guards played great pressure defense."

Mark Dubray scored 20 points and Jordan His Law added 15 for the winners.

Miller was led in scoring by Grant Rediger with 20 points and Taylor Carr added 10 points.

Todd County (6-1) travels to Martin on Saturday to face the Bennett County Warriors.

GIRLS GAMES

Redfield Classic

REDFIELD - Leola Fredrick toppled St. Thomas More 42-38 and Red Cloud bettered Redfield 46-29 in the Redfield Holiday Classic on Thursday.

The Titans' Mikayla Barondeau scored 25 points to pave the way for Leola-Fredrick in the win over St. Thomas More.

The game was tied at 38 with 2:30 to play, but the Cavaliers couldn't come up with a basket the rest of the way.

Free throws were a big part of the game as the Cavaliers were 8-of-15 from the line, while the Titans went 18-of-24 from the charity stripe.

Caitlyn Duffy, Brittany Kjerstad and Alexa White scored seven points each for St. Thomas More.

Leola-Frederick is now 5-1 with the win, while St. Thomas More falls to 3-3 on the year.

Marquee Lunderman scored 23 points and Ida Clarke added 12 as Red Cloud toppled the host Redfield Lady Pheasants in the nightcap.

Red Cloud (5-1) was coming off it's first loss of the season.

The Crusaders lost to Pine Ridge in the championship game of the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday.

Red Cloud broke the game open in the second quarter as they outscored Redfield 15-4 to take a 29-12 lead at the intermission.

Bethany Nuhsbaumer led the Lady Pheasants (1-5) with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
